Nestled in the middle of the gulf of the same name, immersed in nature, Follonica is one of the most famous seaside resorts of Maremma. It is only 20 km from Piombino and you can reach it just with a few minutes by car.

Follonica overlooks a crystal clear sea and boasts several sandy beaches equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers. The beach covers the whole natural curve of the Gulf, and behind it are thick pinewoods and groves with plants typical of Mediterranean vegetation. Just a short distance from the sea there is also a large nature reserve, the Macchia della Magona, crossed by hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding trails.

The Gulf of Follonica is also the perfect environment for water sports such as surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing and diving. The backdrops remain low up to several feet from the shore, allowing the beginner to experience some diving. This is also an ideal situation for families with children who want to have fun in the water in total safety.
